Uninstall may take several minutes to complete. Each user's data directory and workspace are left intact to preserve data.

Note: Use the uninstall utility provided with your installed Notes version.

Procedure

1. Exit Notes before uninstalling the product.

2. Log in as a root user.

3. Navigate to install path/uninstaller.bin using File Browser or a shell terminal.

4. Run the uninstaller.bin file by either double-clicking on the icon in File Browser or executing ./uninstaller.bin in a shell.

If you installed IBM Lotus Notes using an rpm kit (SUSE or Red Hat platform), use the following procedure to uninstall Notes.

a. Exit Notes before uninstalling the product.

b. Log in as an root user.

c. Uninstall the rpm packages using either a command line or using GUI method as below.

• On SUSE, use the Remove Software application. Click Computer -> System applications -> Remove Software. Search for and select the Notes rpm packages. Click Remove.
• On Red Hat, use Add/Remove Software application on the Applications menu. Search for and select the Notes rpm packages. Click Apply.
• Check which Notes-related rpm packages are installed using the following command.

  rpm -qa | grep ibm_lotus

• Uninstall all Notes rpm packages in a single command line as in the example below.

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_notes ibm_lotus_activities ibm_lotus_caeibm_lotus_sametime ibm_lotus_symphony

• Optionally, uninstall packages individually, being sure to uninstall Notes last, as below.

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_activities

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_cae

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_sametime

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_symphony

  #rpm -e ibm_lotus_notes

If you installed IBM Lotus Notes using a deb kit (Ubuntu platform), use the following procedure to uninstall Notes.

a. Exit Notes before uninstalling the product.

b. Log in as an root user.

c. Uninstall the deb packages using either a command line or using GUI method as below.

• Check which Notes-related deb packages are installed using the following command.

  $dpkg -l "ibm-lotus*"

• Uninstall all Notes deb packages in a single command line as in the example below.

  #sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-notes ibm-lotus-activities ibm-lotus-caeibm-lotus-sametime ibm-lotus-symphony

• Optionally, uninstall packages individually, being sure to uninstall Notes last, as below.

  $sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-activities

  $sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-cae

  $sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-sametime

  $sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-symphony

  $sudo dpkg -P ibm-lotus-notes
